Preceding the International Conference on Functional Discourse Grammar FDG2018, an International Postgraduate Course in Functional Discourse Grammar will be held in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, on 24 and 25 July, 2018. This course will itself be preceded by a Portuguese-taught Introdução preliminar à Gramática Discursivo-Funcional on 23 July 2018.

Objectives

The intensive International Postgraduate Course on the theory of Functional Discourse Grammar is organized during the days preceding IC-FDG-2016 to enable linguists unfamiliar with the theory to prepare for participation in the conference. The course is organized with doctoral students in mind. The Portuguese-taught preamble to the International Postgraduate Course aims at making the participants familiar with the English terminology used in the Preconference Course.
